Detection of human AP3B1 by western blot. Samples: Whole cell lysate (50 µg) from HeLa, HEK293T, and Jurkat cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-AP3B1 antibody (Product # A305-349A) (lot A305-349A-1) used for WB at 0.1 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

AP3B1 is a protein that may play a role in organelle biogenesis associated with melanosomes, platelet dense granules, and lysosomes. Structurally, AP3B1 is part of the heterotetrameric AP-3 protein complex which interacts with the scaffolding protein clathrin. Mutations in AP3B1 are associated with Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome type 2.
