AS160 Antibody (PA5-17284) in WB
Western blot was performed using Anti-AS160 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-17284) and a 146 kDa band corresponding to AS160 was observed in cell lines tested. Whole cell extracts (40 µg lysate) of Caco-2 (Lane 1) and HEK-293 (Lane 2) were electrophoresed using Novex® NuPAGE® 4-12% Bis-Tris Protein Gel (Product # NP0322BOX). AS160 (TBC1D4) is a GTPase-activiting protein for RAB2A, RAB8A, RAB10, and RAB14. The isoform 2 version of this protein promotes the insulin-induced glucose transporter SLC2A4/GLUT4 translocation at the plasma membrane. This movement increases glucose uptake. Mutations associated with the gene cause Diabetes mellitus, non-insulin-dependent, 5 (NIDDM5).
