Detection of human CAT2 by western blot. Samples: Whole cell lysate (50 µg) prepared using NETN buffer from HeLa, HEK293T, and Jurkat cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-CAT2 antibody (Product # A304-445A) (lot A304-445A-1) used for WB at 1 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

The encoded membrane protein is responsible for the cellular uptake of arginine, lysine and ornithine. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
