Description: The monoclonal antibody GR-20 recognizes mouse CD119 also known as IFN gamma receptor 1. CD119 heterodimerizes with IFN gamma receptor 2 (AF-1) forming the Class II cytokine receptor. The ligand IFN gamma binds IFN gamma receptor 1 subunit but signal transduction transpires via the IFN gamma receptor 2 subunit. The receptor is involved in host defense and expression is broad including B cells, NK cells, macrophages and dendritic cells as well as other non-hematopoietic cell types. The GR-20 antibody has been reported to block IFN gamma binding to CD119.
Applications Reported: This GR-20 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and functional assays (blocking cytokine binding to the receptor).
Storage and handling: Use in a sterile environment.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Purity: Greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin Level: Less than 0.001 ng/µg antibody, as determined by LAL assay.
Aggregation: Less than 10%, as determined by HPLC.
This gene (IFNGR1) encodes the ligand-binding chain (alpha) of the gamma interferon receptor. Human interferon-gamma receptor is a heterodimer of IFNGR1 and IFNGR2. A genetic variation in IFNGR1 is associated with susceptibility to Helicobacter pylori infection. In addition, defects in IFNGR1 are a cause of mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial disease, also known as familial disseminated atypical mycobacterial infection.
