Detection of human DYRK1A by western blot and immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate from HeLa (15 and 50 µg for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded), HEK293T (T; 50 µg) and Jurkat (J; 50 µg) cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-DYRK1A antibody (Product # A303-802A) used for WB at 0.1 µg/mL (A) and 1 µg/mL (B) and used for IP at 6 µg/mg lysate. DYRK1A is a dual specificity kinase involved in cell proliferation. The gene for DYRK1A is located in the Down syndrome critical region of chromosome 21, and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of this disease. DYRK1A catalyzes the transition of 3-phosphoglycerate into 3-phosphohydroxypyruvate, which is the first and rate-limiting step in the phosphorylated pathway of serine biosynthesis, using NAD+/NADH as a cofactor.
