Immunofluorescence analysis of ETV5 was performed using 70% confluent log phase A-431 cells. The cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde for 10 minutes, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton™ X-100 for 15 minutes, and blocked with 1% BSA for 1 hour at room temperature. ETS variant 5, transcription factor of the ETS family, divergent member of the winged helix-turn-helix superfamily, expressed in brain, placenta and other tissues involved in development. Tissue specificity: Ubiquitous. ERM is expressed in Sertoli cells and spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs). Studies on knockout mice have shown that it is required for SSC self-renewal but not differentiation, thus affected mice exhibit progressive germ cell depletion.
