EphA4 Antibody (PA5-27998) in WB

Western blot was performed using Anti-EphA4 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-27998) and ~110 kDa band corresponding to EphA4 was observed across the high expressing models (Mouse brain and Rat brain) and was absent in low expressing models (Mouse cerebellum, Mouse liver and Mouse pancreas). An uncharacterized band (*) at ~40 kDa was also observed. EPHA4 belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily of the protein tyrosine kinase family. EPH and EPH-related receptors have been implicated in mediated developmental events, particularly in the nervous system. Receptors in the EPH subfamily typically have a single kinase domain and an extracellular region containing a Cys-rich domain and 2 fibronectin type III repeats. The ephrin receptors are divided into 2 groups based on the similarity of their extracellular domain sequences and their affinities for binding ephrin-A and ephrin-B ligands. EphA4 encodes a protein that binds ephrin-A ligands.
