Immunohistochemistry analysis of GAP43 in paraffin-embedded mouse brain. Samples were incubated with GAP43 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-120496) using a dilution of 1:100 (40x lens). Perform microwave antigen retrieval with 10 mM PBS buffer pH 7.2 before commencing with IHC staining protocol.

GAP43 (Neuromodulin) is associated with nerve growth. GAP43 is expressed by developing and regenerating neurons, and to a lesser extent reactive glial cells. It is a major component of the motile "growth cones" that form the tips of elongating axons. GAP43 also plays a role in axonal and dendritic filopodia induction.
