Immunohistochemical analysis of Hemopexin in immersion fixed frozen sections of adult mouse kidney. Samples were incubated with Hemopexin polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-47891) using a dilution of 10 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C followed by NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Sheep IgG Secondary Antibody (red) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to tubule epithelia.

In direct ELISAs, approximately 45% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Hemopexin is observed.

Reconstitute in sterile PBS to a final concentration of 0.2 mg/mL.

Hemopexin is a serum glycoprotein that binds heme and transports it to the liver for breakdown and iron recovery, after which the free hemopexin returns to the circulation. Structurally, hemopexin consists of two similar halves of approximately two hundred amino acid residues connected by a histidine-rich hinge region. Each half is itself formed by the repetition of a basic unit of some 35 to 45 residues.
