Clone RB6-8C5 reacts predominantly with the Ly-6G protein but weaker reactivity with the Ly-6C protein has been reported, possibly because certain sub-populations of bone marrow cells simultaneously express both Ly-6C and Ly-6G.

Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water. After reconstitution, store product undiluted at 4ºC in the dark.

For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1x10^6 cells in 100 µL.

Rat anti Mouse Gr-1 antibody, clone RB6-8C5 recognizes the mouse Gr-1 antigen, a approximately 21-25 kDa GPI anchored cell surface protein bearing a single uPAR/Ly6 domain that belongs to the Ly-6 family of proteins.

They are also called polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN or PML) because of the varying shapes of the nucleus, which is usually lobed into three segments. In common parlance, the term polymorphonuclear leukocyte often refers specifically to neutrophil granulocytes, the most abundant of the granulocytes. Granulocytes or PMN are released from the bone marrow by the regulatory complement proteins.
