Neurogenin 1 Antibody (PA5-91933) in WB
Western blot analysis of Neurogenin 1 in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with Neurogenin 1 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-91933) using a dilution of 1:400, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST.

Neurogenin 1 is a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins are transcription factors involved in determining cell type during development. NeuroG1 is a bHLH protein with dual cell-fate specification roles. It functions during neurogenesis, and it has also been shown to inhibit the differentiation of neural stem cells into astrocytes. NeuroG1 promotes neurogenesis by functioning as a transcriptional activator, yet it inhibits astrocyte differentiation by compartmentalizing the CREB-binding protein transcription complex away from astrocyte differentiation genes and by inhibiting STAT transcription factors essential for gliogenesis.
