4EBP1, 4EBP2, and 4EBP3 are members of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein (4EBP) family. These proteins play a crucial role in the regulation of protein synthesis, specifically by controlling the availability of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E).| 4EBP1, 4EBP2, and 4EBP3 are structurally similar but exhibit some differences in their tissue distribution and expression levels. They are widely expressed in various tissues and cell types and have been implicated in the regulation of different biological processes, including cell growth, proliferation, and survival. Dysregulation of 4EBP proteins has also been associated with various diseases, including cancer.
