Immunocytochemistry analysis of STX16 in HepG2 cells. Nuclei were stained blue with DAPI; STX16 recombinant monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-53782) with a dilution of 1:1,000 was stained magenta with Alexa Fluor 647. Images were taken using Leica stellaris 5. Protein abundance based on laser Intensity and smart gain: Medium. Scale bar: 20 μm.

STX16 Antibody — Antibody specificity was demonstrated by siRNA mediated knockdown of target protein. HeLa cells were transfected with Syntaxin 16 shRNA and decrease in signal intensity was observed in Western Blotting using Anti-STX16 Recombinant Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (23GB4655) (Product # MA5-53782) at a dilution of 1:5,000. This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the syntaxin or t-SNARE (target-SNAP receptor) family. These proteins are found on cell membranes and serve as the targets for V-SNARES (vesicle-SNAP receptors) permitting specific synaptic vesicle docking and fusion. A microdeletion in the region of chromosome 20 where this gene is located has been associated with pseudohypoparathyroidism type Ib. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
