Immunohistochemistry analysis of ZMPSTE24 in paraffin-embedded human colon. Samples were incubated with ZMPSTE24 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-116870) using a dilution of 1:100 (40x lens). Perform microwave antigen retrieval with 10 mM PBS buffer pH 7.2 before commencing with IHC staining protocol.

The encoded protein is a zinc metalloproteinase involved in the two step post-translational proteolytic cleavage of carboxy terminal residues of farnesylated prelamin A to form mature lamin A. Mutations in this gene have been associated with mandibuloacral dysplasia and restrictive dermopathy.
