Western blot analysis of alpha-2a Adrenergic Receptor in zebrafish muscle lysates. Samples were incubated with alpha-2a Adrenergic Receptor polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-72228) using a dilution of 1:2,000 followed by Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG, (H+L), Peroxidase conjugated at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 20 µg per lane. Predicted band size: 44 kDa. Blocking/Dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST.

Alpha-2-adrenergic receptors (ADRA2A) are members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily. They include 3 highly homologous subtypes: alpha2A, alpha2B, and alpha2C. ADRA2A mediate the catecholamine-induced inhibition of adenylate cyclase through the action of G protein. These receptors have a critical role in regulating neurotransmitter release from sympathetic nerves and from adrenergic neurons in the central nervous system.
