CK2 alpha-1 Antibody (PA5-117894) in WB
Western Blot using CK2 alpha-1 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-117894) at 1:500 dilution. Lane A: Jurkat Whole Cell Lysate. Lysates/proteins at 30 μg per lane. Secondary Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (DyLight™ 800) at 1:10,000 dilution. Developed using the Odyssey technique. Performed under reducing conditions. Predicted band size: 45 kDa. Observed band size: 40 kDa. (We are unsure of the identity of these extra bands).

CSNK2A1 is a serine/threonine protein kinase that phosphorylates acidic proteins. The kinase exists as a tetramer and is composed of an alpha, an alpha-prime, and two beta subunits. The alpha subunits contain the catalytic activity while the beta subunits undergo autophosphorylation. The protein encoded by CK2 alpha-1 represents the alpha subunit. While CK2 alpha-1 is found on chromosome 20, a related transcribed pseudogene is found on chromosome 11. Three transcript variants encoding two different proteins have been found for CK2 alpha-1.
