Download software to operate your Thermo Scientific NanoDrop instrument with full functionality by selecting your instrument from one of the tabs below.
Minimum computer and operating system requirements needed to run each NanoDrop instrument is described under the specific instrument tab.
Please register your instrument before downloading instrument software. Registration is a one-time process and 1.) allows you to receive alerts when new software is available for your specific instrument and 2.) helps verify your warranty status.

IMPORTANT: Software versions for the instrument and PC Control must match to ensure data transfer and viewing. Example: Update instrument with NanoDrop One Operating and HELP software version 2.2 and update personal computer with PC Control software version 2.2
How to update the Thermo Scientific NanoDrop One/Onec UV-Vis spectrophotometer Local Control Software and HELP system files
Please have your instrument serial number available for authentication before downloading files.
- First download the current English NanoDrop One/Onec Local Control Software v2.2 (Dec 2020) file to a USB device and follow the instructions below. Please do not attempt to unzip the folder. It is zipped and password protected when it is downloaded, because it is not designed to be unzipped.
NOTE: The English HELP system is included in this operating file. - Optional - After uploading the English file to your NanoDrop One spectrophotometer, you can download a non-English HELP system file to a USB device and follow the instructions below.
NanoDrop One/Onec HELP system file (May 2017)
Instructions to update NanoDrop One/OneC Local Control Software & Help System Files from USB device:
- Insert the USB device into any USB port on the NanoDrop One/OneC instrument.
- From the instrument Home screen, tap Settings > System > Update Software.
- Select the version to install and tap Done.
- When the installation is complete, the message "Update complete" appears. Tap OK.
- The screen will prompt you to restart the instrument. Tap OK.
How to add a NanoDrop One/Onec Custom Method file - Optional
Download and unzip a desired custom method file (October 2016) from this list and copy the .method file to a USB device and then follow the instructions below:
Instructions for uploading a Custom Method to the instrument from a USB device:
- Insert the USB device into any USB port on the NanoDrop One instrument.
- From the Home screen tap the Custom tab select the Custom application, and select the USB port.
- Tap Load Method. Custom methods on the USB will now appear in the "Load Method" dialog.
- Tap to select the custom method file(s) then tap Load. The selected method(s) will now appear on the Custom method selection screen.
- Tap the custom method of interest to review method details.
- Tap Run Method to start a measurement.
How to update Thermo Scientific NanoDrop One/Onec PC Control software
The NanoDrop One PC Control software gives you the flexibility to control operation of your instrument via an Ethernet connected PC. This software is compatible with Windows 10 Pro (64 bit).
Download and install NanoDrop One/OneC PC Control Software v2.2 (Dec 2020) directly to your computer.
NOTE: Optional software is available to run your NanoDrop One/OneC in a lab that complies with 21 CFR Part 11. To learn more, visit thermofisher.com/nanodrop21cfr.

NanoDrop 2000 / 2000c Operating Software, version 1.6 (September 2014)
Operating software for the NanoDrop 2000 and NanoDrop 2000c. Compatible with Windows 7 Professional (32 and 64 bit), Windows 8.1 Professional (64 bit), and Windows 10 Pro (64 bit).
- Must be an administrator on the computer to install the software
- Make sure the instrument is disconnected from the computer and the power during the software download and installation.
- Once the software has installed, connect the power to the instrument first and then connect the instrument to the computer. This will complete the driver installation.
- Do not open the software until the window pop up indicates the hardware has successfully installed.
- No additional drivers needed. All that is required installs with the software.
- If you have tried to install an earlier version of software on the computer, please uninstall this version before proceeding.
- Please wait until the driver installation is complete before opening the software. Please note that there are three drivers for the NanoDrop 8000, all other instruments have one driver.

Operating Software for the NanoDrop 3300. Compatible with Professional versions of Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit), Windows 8.1 (64 bit), Windows 10 (64 bit).
- Must be an administrator on the computer to install the software.
- Make sure the instrument is disconnected from the computer during the software download and installation.
- Prior to installing the latest version of software, all previous versions of NanoDrop 3300 software and associated software must be uninstalled. To do this:
- Open Control Panel and go to Programs and Features
- Next, uninstall the following software:
- NanoDrop 3300 64bit Driver
- NanoDrop 3300 V2.x.x
- National Instruments Software (double-click on National Instruments to see the software)
- NI-VISA Runtime
- LabVIEW Runtime
- Once the software has been uninstalled, restart the computer.
- Download and install the latest version of the NanoDrop 3300 software.
- Once the software has installed, restart the computer.
- After the computer restarts, connect the USB cable to the instrument and the computer. This will complete the driver installation.
- Allow 2 to 3 minutes until the driver installation is complete before launching the software.
- No additional drivers are needed. All required drivers install with the software.

Before downloading the newest version of software for the Thermo Scientific NanoDrop 8000, v2.3.3, customers who purchased their NanoDrop 8000 before Jan 1st 2017 need to contact the NanoDrop distributor in their region to have the instrument firmware updated.
- Must be an administrator on the computer to install the software.
- Make sure the instrument is disconnected from the computer and the power during the software download and installation.
- Prior to installing the latest version of software, all previous versions of NanoDrop 8000 software and associated software must be uninstalled. To do this:
