When performing wound healing assays, or scratch assays, to determine the migratory potential of cancer cells, it is important to have a growth factor that does not degrade in cell culture conditions.  Native basic fibroblast growth factor degrades rapidly at 37°C, adding undesired variability. Gibco Heat Stable bFGF is a superior solution to the problem by maintaining ≥ 80% bioactivity at 37°C for at least 72 hours.
