This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-144966. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

SERPINA4 inhibits human amidolytic and kininogenase activities of tissue kallikrein. The inhibition is achieved by formation of an equimolar, heat- and SDS-stable complex between the inhibitor and the enzyme, and generation of a small C-terminal fragment of the inhibitor due to cleavage at the reactive site by tissue kallikrein.
