This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-66558. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Cellular DNA-binding proteins encoded by the c-myc genes. They are normally involved in nucleic acid metabolism and in mediating the cellular response to growth factors. Elevated and deregulated (constitutive) expression of c-myc proteins can cause tumorigenesis. L-Myc gene ontology annotations include DNA binding function, DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific action, protein dimerization activity, and regulation of inner ear auditory receptor cell differentiation.
