This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-111058. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

TRPM2 belongs to the ion transport protein family which includes Sodium, Potassium, Calcium ion channels. This family is characterized by proteins possessing 6 transmembrane helices in which the last two helices flank a loop which determines ion selectivity. TRPM2 is activated by oxidative stress and confers susceptibility to cell death. Further, TRPM2 is a calcium-permeable cation channel that is regulated by free intracellular ADP-ribose. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of the TRPM2 gene have been described, but their full-length nature is not known.
