This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-111649. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

B-lymphoid tyrosine kinase (BLK) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that belongs to the Src family of kinases. BLK plays an important role in B-cell activation. Protein kinases are enzymes that transfer a phosphate group from a phosphate donor, generally the g phosphate of ATP, onto an acceptor amino acid in a substrate protein. By this basic mechanism, protein kinases mediate most of the signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, regulating cellular metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement and cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation.
