This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-110932. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
MAP3K14 (NIK) is structurally related to MAP3Ks. MAP3K14 phosphorylates and activates CHUK (IKKalpha) and IKBKB (IKK beta), which in turn phosphorylate IkB-alpha, releasing NF-KappaB leading to up-regulation of inflammatory response genes. This kinase binds to TRAF2 and stimulates NF-kappaB activity. It shares sequence similarity with several other MAPKK kinases. It participates in an NF-kappaB-inducing signalling cascade common to receptors of the tumour-necrosis/nerve-growth factor (TNF/NGF) family and to the interleukin-1 type-I receptor.
