This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-52662. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

OAZ1 catalyzes the conversion of ornithine to putrescine in the first and apparently rate-limiting step in polyamine biosynthesis. This protein play a role in the regulation of polyamine synthesis by binding to and inhibiting ornithine decarboxylase. The protein expression is auto-regulated by polyamine-enhanced translational frameshifting.
