This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-58374. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Plays a role in the TGF-beta/activin signaling pathway. It associates with inactive heteromeric TGF-beta and activin receptor complexes, mainly through the type II receptor, and is released upon activation of signaling. May recruit SMAD4 to the vicinity of the receptor complex and facilitate its interaction with receptor-regulated Smads, such as SMAD2.
