Description: The monoclonal rat IgG1 kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
Applications Reported: This eBRG1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Our internal testing shows that Alexa Fluor 561 non-specifically stains B cells in Swiss Webster and SJL mice. Non-specific staining has not been observed in BALB/c or C57BL/6 mice. Other strains have not been tested. See the Antibody Testing Data for an example of this strain-dependent difference.
Applications Tested: This eBRG1 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes and normal human peripheral blood cells and should be used at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.
Alexa Fluor 561 emits at 575 nm and is intended for use on spectral cytometers where it may be multiplexed with both PE and PE-eFluor 610.
Excitation: 558 nm; Emission: 575 nm; Laser: Yellow-Green Laser
Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies that are commonly used in research and diagnostics. These antibodies are produced by rats in response to an antigen and can be purified from serum or hybridoma cell culture supernatants. Rat IgG1 is often used as a negative control in experiments, as it does not bind to many mammalian antigens. It is also used in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting to detect specific antigens. Gene targeting is a powerful tool used to manipulate the rat genome and generate animal models for studying human diseases. With gene targeting, specific genes can be knocked out, inserted, or modified to investigate their role in disease pathogenesis.
