Western blot was performed using CD105 Monoclonal Antibody (MEM-226) (Product # MA1-19231) and a ~70 kDa band corresponding to CD105 was observed in HUVEC, HMEC-1, T98G and HeLa. This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD105 (Endoglin), a 90 kDa type I homodimerizing membrane glycoprotein expressed on vascular endothelial cells (small and large vessels), activated monocytes and tissue macrophages, stromal cells of certain tissues including bone marrow, pre-B lymphocytes in fetal marrow and erythroid precursors in fetal and adult bone marrow; it is also present on syncytiotrophoblast on placenta throughout pregnancy.

This antibody has been successfully used in Mass Cytometry (CyTof).

CD105 or Endoglin is a Type I transmembrane protein, which is highly expressed on human vascular endothelial cells. It exists on an O- and N-glycosylated homodimer. Up regulation of endoglin expression has been demonstrated in tumor vasculature and proliferating cells, suggesting that it is a proliferation associated endothelial marker. CD105 binds to TGF beta 1 and 3 with high affinity but not to TGF beta 2.

In addition, the downregulation of miR-320 could reverse the regulatory effect of exosomal shcircDLGAL5 in H/R-treated HBMECs by upregulating KLF5.
