DynaDrive Bioreactor performance

The DynaDrive bioreactor brings an exceptional level of performance to single-use bioprocessing.

  • Up to 190% increased oxygen mass transfer*—the DynaDrive drilled hole sparge (DHS) is enhanced and specifically designed to optimize the kLa performance. The laser-cut holes in the DHS are smaller, and the quantity has been increased so that bubble size is uniform and sized properly for O2 delivery and CO2 stripping.
  • 41% lower cost per gram**—leveraging higher in-vessel turndown ratios to run multiple stages in a single vessel, reducing the number of BPCs loaded and unloaded, as well as the number of vessels needed in the overall facility.
  • Up to 50% more product with the same footprint†—the flexible drive train includes multiple impellers that enable more PIV while still maintaining reasonable RPM and tip speeds.
* Compared to legacy S.U.B. designs.

** Based on internal data comparing 5,000 L DynaDrive S.U.B. to legacy S.U.B.

† Comparing 3,000 L DynaDrive S.U.B. to 2,000 L S.U.B.

DynaDrive Bioreactor size and scalability

Available from 5 L to 5,000 L, the DynaDrive Single-Use Bioreactor is the first 5,000 L S.U.B. on the market—now used worldwide.

Mass transfer and mixing allows for the use of the same technology over a larger range of facility networks, thus simplifying process transfers. This flexibility provides consistency from research and development to manufacturing phases.

The DynaDrive S.U.B. automation system integrates with the Thermo Scientific TruBio software, powered by the DeltaV Live Platform and the Thermo Scientific HyPerforma bioprocess controllers to offer easy, unified data aggregation and quality control, helping to improve the user experience.

Bioreactor application expertise

With 25 years of single-use technology experience, the DynaDrive S.U.B. is our latest advancement in our line of elegantly designed, highly functional single-use bioreactor hardware. It is designed to:

  • Support 21 CFR 820 cGMP requirements
  • Reduce hold-up volumes with a strategically designed tank floor
  • Allow simple BPC loading with vertical access door on all sizes

The doors have been carefully designed so all probe ports and tubing line sets are positioned correctly and easily without the need to be put through constrained holes.

Additionally, the DynaDrive S.U.B. tank has a minimized vessel footprint with efficiently sized hardware and offers easy cleaning capabilities associated with an open-cart frame.
